I Can See It, So Why Can't You?.

It had been a long day at Hogwarts, Cedrella was keeping to herself mostly as she had always done. Though she had kept a keen eye on the other Slytherins and observed there stupidity she couldn't help but wonder why the hell Slytherin boys needed to make a typical stereotype of them all. She herself had known what being a Slytherin meant, but enough was enough. Why did they have to prove who they were?, didn't history do that enough?. Though there was one thing on her mind and that was her mother.

Cedrella looked up to her mother very much and she did everything she could in her power to make her mother proud. Her pureblood status meant everything to her and unlike her older sister Desdemona, she highly looked up to her family and what they had been through. Her sister was someone Cedrella had watched throughout her childhood years and the mistakes Desdemona had made had been something Cedrella had learned from. She had lost most of her childhood to raising her younger siblings, something she wasn't sure her mother had noticed in the least.

Cedrella had spent most of her time with her father Rodolphus Lestrange while her mother Bellatrix had sternly raised Desdemona. Though there were certain nightmares that she realized her father had put her through which now made her despise her father with a passion, Cedrella was really trying to reach out to her mother. Walking towards the door to the Black manor, Cedrella paused as her hand was reaching out to grab the knob of the door, she sighed. As she did her body bolted straight as she was flashed into a vision..

In this vision she was running down the Manor staircase when her father eyed her threateningly and Cedrella stood there. Continuing her way down the staircase slowly however before reaching the bottom of the staircase her father began to yell loudly, instantly almost tripping over her feet Cedrella ran back up the stairs as a green light shot from her father's wand. It was then that her heart beated and she was flashed out of the vision. Shaking her head and turning the knob to the Manor, Cedrella walked into her home.

" I'M HOME!.." Cedrella said loudly. Cedrella placed her backpack on the floor near there staircase and began looking around for anyone who was home.

[Bellatrix Lestrange]

Feeling extremely displeased, Bellatrix sat down in the window seat of her painting room. This was the only room in the house she considered home... the only room that belonged to her and her alone - no one was allowed to set foot inside; neither her husband nor her children, not even her beloved Corvus. This was her space and she intended on keeping it that way. The reason of her displeasure? Rodolphus, of course. He had been annoying her for days to spend some time together and finally she reluctantly agreed to grant his wish. That day she had left the Ministry early because husband and wife were supposed to spend a long weekend in France. It will be romantic, he had said. You will love it. I promise, he had insisted.

When she arrived home Patter, the house-elf, had a message from Rodolphus. Ma... Master says to forgive him, Madame. He says he will be back soon, Patter told her. Bellatrix did not hesitate to punish the house-elf for her husband's mistake. After the endless nagging Rodolphus placed his work ahead of his wife once again. Even though Bellatrix often did the same thing to him, she was enraged by his behaviour. She had half a mind to go to France by herself; perhaps invite Rabastan. The thought of her husband's brother brought a smile to her face. Bellatrix by no means favoured him but when the two of them were alone, oh how he could surprise her... and besides it was her way to get back to Rodolphus.

A look of determination crossed her face. Having taken a decision, Bellatrix stood up tall and proud. Within seconds she left the comfort of her haven and entered the master bedroom. She would need few things; Bella doubted they would leave the residence. Once her bag was packed the brunette bathed and then carefully picked out an outfit. The weather was warm enough for a red low-cut corset dress, bare legs and flat stylish shoes. Reaching for her black travelling cloak, Bellatrix froze in place as Cedrella's shout carried all the way to the bedroom. Sighing she dropped the garment on the bed. As much as she wanted to pretend not to be home and leave for France, Bellatrix stepped in the hallway to greet her daughter.

"I wasn't expecting you," was her opening line.

Cedrella looked at her mom and her eyes seemed to stair at her as if she wasn't real. It was hard for her to not stair as her mother was someone who affected her life very much. She then cracked her hands and sighed. "Hi... Were you expecting Mona?.." Cedrella couldn't help but say. There was always that comparison going on in the family and Cedrella couldn't help but feel like a ghost in her own life. Walking towards her mother and placing a hand on her shoulder she then walked over to the fridge and took out an apple, turning to see her mother again.

She loved to just watch her mother, it was something she did as a child and continued to do. She had known what her father was, and what her mother had been through just to bring her into the world and she felt very protective of her mother. Crossing her arms, she bit into the apple and chewed. Cedrella stood there very proper looking as she was always taught to do. "Why are you here?... Didn't dad say he wanted to take you out?.." Cedrella couldn't help but listen in at times. Her father had never liked it but that was all the more reason to do so.

A thought popped into Cedrella's head just then, perhaps she should smile?. Ask her mother how she was.. Something, but nothing came out. She wondered if her mother even recognized it was her, if she could see her. If Cedrella was sure of one thing, it was that her father saw her, heck he was terrified of her though her mother's response always made Cedrella curious. What did she see in her own daughter?.

[Bellatrix Lestrange]

Over the years Bellatrix grew accustomed to her daughter's stares, even though she deemed them as rude. There was a time when the older woman constantly chided Cedrella for her behaviour, however, that changed when Bella used Legilmency on the child. She came to understand that it brought comfort to her daughter; and Bellatrix could not help but wonder if it was connected to the fact that she had almost died giving birth to Cedrella. Shaking the thought out of her mind, she walked past the girl and lead the way towards the kitchen. Cedrella's question solicited a raised eyebrow.

"Desdemona," Bella corrected.

She did not like her eldest's nickname and for a very silly reason too. In Bellatrix's mind Mona was too close to Meda - the last thing she wanted was for her proper child to turn out like her treacherous ex-sister. She paused in her tracks and held onto a nearby chair as the mere thought of that possibility made her feel faint. She refused to have her daughter become an outcast, a nobody... No. Desdemona was destined for greater things and Bellatrix was determined to help that happen, no matter what it took. Glancing back at Cedrella, she knew it was time to start carving a path for all three of her daughters.

"No. I was expecting none of you."

Cedrella's brief physical contact did not surprise Bellatrix as it was something her daughter needed from time to time - the older Lestrange neither encouraged nor put a stop to it... for now. A look of horror struck her face as she watched Cedrella grab an apple and simply take a bite. Her own mother's face loomed before her eyes and her words echoed in her ears. No, she would not allow Cedrella to get away with her mistake. Narrowing her eyes, Bellatrix crossed over to her daughter and snatched the apple from her hand before steering her towards the sink and bending her slightly over.

"Spit it out," she hissed.

"Haven't I taught you anything? Always wash your apples before eating them. You know as well as I do that the house-elves pick them from the trees."

Cedrella knew exactly what her mother had expected from her, though she wasn't sure if she could ever truly seperate the idea of Cedrella from her precious Desdemona. Cedrella watched as her mother was not to keen about how she eyed her curiously.
Something that Cedrella was very good at hapenned to be Legilimency along with Occlumency and visions in general. She was a Seer after all, not that anyone really knew it but her. She felt the need to go deeper into her visions and if she could, guarantee that they went according to the way she saw them. Frustration was always present when things didn't go right.

" You know what I mean.." Cedrella said in a hissing manner. Why did everything have to fall on the eldest child. She was done being second in line that was for sure.

As Bellatrix went into her own thoughts, Cedrella's eyes went softer and she noticed her mother was struggling with some internal battle that she herself did not want to think about. Her mother had alot on her back and always did. This time though, Cedrella didn't ask. Feeling it was something she might have done to make her mother disappointed, but what?.. Things were not getting any better in this house that was for sure.

The next moment seemed to flash through Cedrella's eyes. She had the apple in her hand, how she was hungry. Though things were changing quickly. Her mother's eye contact had become horror filled and Cedrella wondered if they were really alone. Then a snap of what looked like reality, filled her mother's eyes and Cedrella wondered if Bellatrix saw in her what Rodolphus saw, pure fear. Feeling her mother grab her and demand that she spit out the apple, she fought and turned around back towards her mother.

"No.. WHY!?.." Cedrella said before opening her mouth and letting the apple fall into her palm. This was a very strange reaction from her mother. A pause loomed on Cedrella's lips before shaking her head. "Really?.. That was worth all the fuss?.. It's an apple." Cedrella walked over to a garbage and threw it out. "My craving has passed anyway." She said as she watched her mother and couldn't help but ask her what popped into her head. "You know I have done alot for this family as well. There's things. Things going on that you don't always see mom." Cedrella said and for a moment felt like her aunt Narcissa could have said that.

[Bellatrix Lestrange]

Scoffing Bellatrix simply stated, "Yes I knew perfectly well what you meant, however, I would prefer if you used her full name. Make sure to remind your sister when you see her."

There was no need to mention her son as well, Corvus was a good boy and he never once called Desdemona 'Mona' after learning that his mother despised that pet name. Focusing back on Cedrella, Bellatrix raised an eye brow.

"I do not appreciate that tone of voice, young lady. I find it offensive and disrespectful."

When giving orders Bellatrix expects to be obeyed promptly; with no arguing or questions asked. Cedrella seemed to think that did not apply to her. As the girl struggled to free herself, Bellatrix became increasingly angry and she tightened her hold on Cedrella's upper arm.

"Because you were ordered to. That's why," she said hotly.

Her eyes hardened at her daughter's response.

"Fuss? You call this a fuss? Well then pardon me for wanting your best interest at heart."

Shaking her head she added, "House-elves are filthy. I do not want them in my house but your dear father insists on making my life miserable by keeping them."

The brunette was taken aback by Cedrella's words - mainly because it was a random statement that did not fit with their discussion. However, she did not ponder on them for too long as her daughter dared call her 'mom'.

"Proper toujours pur do not use muggle terms. It's mother - do not forget that again."

She moved towards an open window giving Cedrella her back and asked, "Would you care to explain what these things are?"

Cedrella nodded as she understand perfectly well what her mother was trying to get across. Not to mention Bellatrix prided herself in the way Desdemona acted and this directly affected the Lestrange family and even more so the Black family. Though Cedrella was a Seer, she did not need to see a vision to know just how quickly Desdemona would rather turn her back on her mother's rules and live her own life, it was very vivid in the way she was. " If that is your wish, I will do so. Cedrella said though she really didn't feel the need to remind her older sister of things when she remembered them.

Smiling at her mother she shook her head. "That tone was not directed towards you.. Merely, a thought in process." Cedrella said as she watched her mother and tried to percieve her next moves, though she wondered just how far her motehr was willing to take the rules she made and if it would shed her blood like her father did. It was strange to think of Bellatrix as such a tough person knowing everything she had been through. Not to mention that Cedrella was at crossroads, she loved her mother dearly, something none of her siblings really did, but she just couldn't cause Bellatrix harm.

"Okay.. Okay it's out.." Cedrella commented as she could feel her mother's claw like fingernails piercing into her fair skin and she didn't like it one bit. She had spit out the apple quite some time ago now and she sighed looking at the floor as her mother continued. "HA!, my best interest.. MY BEST INTEREST!!. Cedrella couldn't help but say, she was firm and clear but not yelling yet. Cedrella had her mother's temper as well. She was a very firm person and she was one who's idea's were very hard to change if it were possible at all.

Assuming her mother did not wish to answer her question as to why her father had left without her, Cedrella pretended that the question was never asked. Allowing her mother to steer the direction of the conversation. Just then another outburst was said but Cedrella agreed this time, coincidentally. "I don't want them here either. They are gross and messy, and they don't listen. You would think they would be gone by now."

[/color] Cedrella did wonder why the elves were still present in there house.

".. My mistake.. I will remember for next time.." Cedrella made a mental note to change the way in which she addressed her mother. When her mom turned around a part of her thought her mother was in pain but then another accusation was made and Cedrella's eyes were curious to see what this was about. "What?.. Is it another dead cat?.. Cedrella asked when she all the sudden felt a heat flash and grabbed onto the table near her. She had never felt this before..

Closing her eyes to see if it was another vision coming on, it wasn't but she did feel dizzy now. Taking a deep breath she regained her balance as she opened her eyes. Cedrella made her way to the fridge again this time, but before reaching the fridge she fainted. Something wasn't right?. Perhaps a spell was cast upon her?, or her drink was poisoned in school, she wasn't sure but she had a feeling it had to do with a Griffindor.. [/size][/blockquote]

"That is exactly what I desire. I do not want you or your sister to encourage Desdemona to use that foul nickname. Understood?" Bellatrix eyed her daughter carefully while awaiting some sort of confirmation from her.

Is that a smile? she thought outraged while leaning forwards to take a closer look at Cedrella's expression. Disrespect was something she had never ever tolerated and she most certainly did not wish to start today. Cedrella was the most unruly of her children.

"Irrelevant. You were addressing me and as such it WAS directed at me."

She paused and pursed her lips.

"A thought you say? Well then perhaps you should do well not to vocalise your thoughts... least you upset me again."

Bella knew how much it meant to Cedrella to impress her, therefore, she was confident that her last words would do the trick. The brunette had never been a weak woman not even when she was pregnant or when she almost died giving birth to her daughter. No, Bella was a thorough warrior. When the children were born, the two Lestranges had agreed that Bellatrix would take their education in their hands. However, when she expressed displeasure in Cedrella her husband offered to instruct the girl for a few months. Rodolphus was determined to make Cedrella mend her ways for Bella's sake.

Her offsprings, with the exception of Corvus, confused Bellatrix at times. She of course understood why people would want to be in her good grace but her own daughters constantly fighting for her sole attention irritated her. Bellatrix valued all three in the same manner and as such treated them equally. Desdemona was only subjected to more intense scrutiny because she was the eldest. In a few years time Cedrella and Druella would also be dealt with as harshly as their sister. Having children had been her husband's dream but as of late he was seldom home.

"HA!, my best interest.. MY BEST INTEREST!!" Bella heard Cedrella say. Mother and daughter shared the same temper, however, that did not justify Cedrella's behaviour. She would be punished for it. For a moment, Bellatrix considering letting her husband deal with Cedrella but then changed her mind.

"What was that? Did you just question my intentions?" she hissed, her eyes fiery and her expression as hard as stone.

Upon hearing Cedrella's statements about house-elves, Bellatrix smiled and looked at the girl with a faint hint of pride. All her children despised inferior beings, thanks to Bellatrix of course, and that pleased her immensely. If only Rodolphus could see how much it hurt her having those creatures around the house.

"Dead cat?" Bella echoed.

"What on earth does that have to do with anything, dear?" she added while turning to face Cedrella, who was clutching to the table.

"Cedrella? What's wrong?"

The child did not reply. Instead she staggered towards the fridge and all of a sudden collapsed to the floor. Bellatrix was silent for a few seconds. She stood her ground and shouted for the house-elf. Patter stumbled in the kitchen, looking from his Mistress to Miss Ella's limp form.

Pointing at her daughter she said frostily, "Take care of... this."

"Levitate her to her bedroom and go fetch a healer. I will be in my chambers," as she said that Bellatrix overstepped Cedrella's body and headed upstairs.

When left alone Patter crouched beside Cedrella and called her name for a response. When nothing came forth, it snapped its fingers and the girl started hovering high above the tiled floor. Carefully it levitated Cedrella upstairs and placed her on the bed before disappearing with a loud crack.

Cedrella watched her mother's carefully planned out decision to order her around. Cedrella knew on some level that it was so important for her mother to have consistency and that is why she nodded. "Agreed." The girl said very seriously. She was however, Bellatrix's most loyal servant even if her mother had only eyes for one.

"A smile?.. Well no.. Of course not." Cedrella said quickly whipping any evidence of the former smile off her face. If her mother didn't like it, she would smile no more. Though she smiled not because she was happy, only because she felt that at that moment her mother could connect with her. Somehow, whatever it would take, Cedrella would reach out to Bellatrix and find some reason to make her mother proud of her, proud to call her a Black. After all she was very responsible, and much more mature then the other of her siblings, though the difference being she did things on her own and didn't flaunt.

"Alright.." Cedrella said somewhat impatiently. She didn't get where exactly her mom was taking this cat dog chase. It seemed to be going in circles for little reason at all.

Hearing her mother's next comments, it was as though a part of Cedrella died right there. Not the physical part of course but the inside, the once excited young happy, hopeful person who had goals. Cedrella stood there very much solid, like that of a soldier. She kept her eyes on her mother before closing them and reopening them. She could tell now that her motehr would never see the efforts she put in for this family, or for the most part, for her mother directly. How far she would go to protect the very name "Black."

Cedrella had never known, even as a young girl, that it was her mother who agreed to the harsh ways her father had. The scrutiny he had put her through and the painful tests that she had undergone was something she always percieved as her father's ways, rather then her mother's command. Cedrella admired her mother for many reasons, though the most one being that she could relate to her in ways other's couldn't. That Bellatrix was there for her even if that meant it was twisted and warped by her mother's need to be on top of everything, to be perfect in some ways.

Cedrella paused for a moment before gathering her thoughts and speaking. She had meant to say this for sometime and now seemed to be the perfect time. " Any interest of mine, is not your best interest mother. You see only those whom you wish to see." It was almost as if another person had said that as Cedrella's lips moved but she didn't hear any of her own words, her mind was on hopes that something in this family would change.

While Bellatrix was preoccupied with Cedrella's previous cat question, the girl was no longer feeling like herself. She heard her mother ask what was wrong, but only so quickly as everything soon went blank and Cedrella's body feel lifelessly to the ground. Her body felt so light as she remained there on the floor. The floor however was cold and so was somewhat refreshing for the small amount of time she was lying there.

In the next moment her mother's voice was no longer clear and although Bellatrix gave orders to Patter, Cedrella could hear nothing. Cedrella's body began to float higher.. Higher, until she was in her room, in bed once again. It had been a good four hours and Cedrella was taken into a new vision. This time her body shook and the vision was in her room. A younger six year old Cedrella ran into the empty room and with her wand attempted to close the door on her father as quickly as possible. Rodolphus was faster and chased her down, kicking the door open just as it was nearly closed. He looked at Cedrella with a sickening but anxious smile. Rubbing his hands together he tilted his head. "Common... Common Ella.. Your a big girl now.." He placed his hands out as if to say give me your best shot.

Cedrella was hit with a curse by her father and fell to the ground. She didn't move for sometime and then she moved, placing her small hand on her stomach she sat up. "Ahh.. You HIT ME!." She said to her father glairing. As her older self awakened.

Once out of the vision Cedrella recieved a jolt back to the present and she looked around. Placing a hand on her head she groaned. " What the heck was that?!." She questioned to herself as she wasn't sure if she was sick now or if something had occured earlier. Where did her mother go?.. She wasn't sure. Instead Cedrella got up and walked over to her door stumbling a bit as she did so. As she walked past her brother and sisters rooms she paused at her mother's room and knocked lightly. "Hello?.. Anyone there?." She wondered. Cedrella just wanted to prove to her mother she could handle as much as her mother could throw at her and she would, because she was that good.

[Bellatrix Lestrange]

Upon entering the bedroom Bellatrix gazed at her reflection. The dress she was wearing was one of her favourites - it was classy but at the same time carried a sex-appeal factor; perfect for meeting Rabastan but unsuitable to greet a healer. Bellatrix preferred to appear motherly in the eyes of society, even if it made her sick to the stomach, as such the dark haired brunette turned her attention to the closet. After regarding her clothes for several minutes she finally decided to wear a conservative black corset-dress.

"I can always get changed once the healer leaves," she reassured herself while peeling off the red garment.

As she stepped in the black dress Bellatrix could hear screams and shouts coming from Cedrella's room. Convinced that the child was having a mere nightmare, the brunette decided to ignore her. Unfortunately her daughter seemed to have other plans. Once the racket ceased, Cedrella made her way to the master bedroom and made her presence known. Bellatrix stiffened and a low hiss escaped her lips. All she had desired was to spend a smug quiet weekend but instead she was forced to deal with Cedrella and her nonsense.

"One moment dear," Bella replied.

She finished getting dressed and crossed the room to open the door. Looking down at her daughter she said, "Why are you out of bed? You are unwell..."

[CEDRELLA LESTRANGE]

Cedrella was not aware of what her mother was up to just yet. It was not up to Cedrella to check on her mother and she often felt it would be better to give Bellatrix space. For now at least, the woman needed space. As Cedrella attempted to collect her thoughts from what had occured in her vision, she felt she needed to make sure this was actually her room. Although her senses told her this was infact her room, she had to make sure it was true.

Getting up, Cedrella pulled herself off her bed and began to walk around the room in a circle. Placing her hand on her furniture slowly as she felt every inch of the wood. It was almost as if through touch, Cedrella could justify that this was really her home. A small smile formed on her face once again. She did own some of this house. Perhaps not financially, but the house would be under her name one day.

As her mother was preoccupied on what best to wear, Cedrella decided time was being wasted. She walked into her mother's room as she could see her mother's dress. "Your going out with dad tonight?, I'm guessing?." Cedrella wondered as she looked over at her mother's dress. This would be a special night by the looks of it. Then hearing what her mother said, Cedrella looked more concerned. "No. I'm fine, it was a small fall." Cedrella said, though she knew there was something odd about how that vision was triggered she wanted to remain strong in the eyes of her mother.

Walking over to her mother's bed and plopping down on it, she kept her eyes on her mother the whole time. Crossing her arms she spoke curiously. "So.. You don't want to spend time with your dear daughter Cedrella tonight?." Cedrella asked, though she knew her mother was a very busy woman she still felt the need to ask. She did after all love her mother in a weird twisted way.
