With what is thought to be the last forces of evil Nighlock army, lead by Master Xandred, destroyed the Rangers thought they could finally live at peace and hang up their Morphers for good. However that was not the case, as there was an evil approaching Earth that was banished eons ago by Zordon to the depths of space: the evil Warstar Empire. They are the biggest threat the Earth has ever seen and, finally, have escaped imprisonment and are out to conquer the universe.
With the Warstar's futuristic technology, the Rangers could be in for the fight of their lives. However, one Ranger team is not going to be enough to stop the Warstar Empire from taking over earth. The speculation behind the Empire breaking out of the grip of Zordon's imprisonment falls to Andros, as he was the one to destroy Zordon's tube, killing him while destroying most of the evil in the universe. However, even if Zordon was around, there is no guarantee that he would be able to imprison this Empire once again.
General Bongiovanni currently leads the attack as they wait for the return of their king and queen, though this is the least of the Rangers' worries. With the technology they have, they are bringing back enemies from the Rangers past. They have been able to brainwash Rangers in the past what is to say the same will not happen here? It looks like the war continues on for the Power Rangers.
