This wasn't the plan ! He kept thinking about that all day. The plan was to get to Hogwarts, and go home with the triwizard cup. He was there for the competition, for DUrmstrang support, the Durmstrang pride ! But that was no longer the only purpose or reason that Alec was in that castle. Thoughts of the day they would be going back home crossed his mind as he stared at his reflection in the mirror while buttoning his robes. Quite proud of looking dashing in red and gold.
Soon enough those thoughts were on his mind once more. "This wasn't the plan !" Never did he think that he would actually find someone to care about, someone to bring out the Alec he never showed before. The tough act seemed to crumble around Emma, the Gryffindor that would be his date to the ball. As enjoyable as it was to have her around, Alec wasn't sure whether their headmaster would think it was a good idea. Blah, he wouldn't care a bit what that man had to say, this was ALec's choice. He might have been overrating the situation, giving it too much thought than he should have. Might as well forget about it all and have a fun night for once.
Upon arriving to the great hall, Alec stood outside, facing the stairs as he knew that Emma would be coming that way. Yes, he DID ask where the Gryffindor tower was... Nothing strange about that... What ? He was a curious guy ! The boy stood there, looking around the various faces walking around, pretending to be engaged in serious conversations while all were anxious to see the champions... Who cares about the champions ? Where was the half blood military beauty ?

EMMA MARIE RICHARDSON
She took in a deep breath, standing in front of the mirror applying the make-up on her face as she did so. Most ladies used magic to apply the perfect amount, but she was only a half-blood and she liked doing it on her own the most. She wore a beautiful green dress that touched the floor and trailed behind her some, only about a foot, if not less than that. It was strapless and beautiful in her opinion. A olive green tinting to it some and she wore some bracelets. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly before she turned and head out, passing a few first years and a few others who were under her. She had been invited, even though she was not a sixth year or higher, she was invited by a guest… A Durmstrang student… A Handsome one at that…
As she moved down the hall ways towards the stairs that would put her in the view of many other students, she stopped and barely looked around the corner. He was so handsome in his Durmstrang attire. She hoped that she looked good in her dress and she finally moved to where he would see her. The heart within’ her chest fluttered as she saw him and she was happy that her make up hide some of the blush from the view of the strong you man. She barely knew him, she wanted to know him very well before he left the school. She hoped that they could keep in touch…
Why she was she thinking like this? Why? She knew why and it was because she had never been out on a date, no one had ever kissed her hand or her cheek. Alec was the first one. She gulped slightly as she made it down the stairs. "Hello Alec."
She said to him as she got close enough. "You look very nice." She smiled brightly at him. [/blockquote] WORD COUNT 0.322 COMMENT ^_^ TAGGED Alec Aichios SONG none STATUS done/open/alec [/blockquote]

Just as he was looking around, he caught a glimpse of golden locks and he turned fully to see Emma walking down the few stairs, right toward him. He felt stunned, taken aback by the way she looked. Sure, he expected something of this sort, the girl was beautiful as it was, but in a dress, she looked even more of a woman than a girl. With every step she took, he found himself smiling even wider and the thought of being able to be with such a girl, suddenly made him feel lucky.
The boy took a couple of steps in her direction as well, stopping right in front of her, enjoying gazing dreamily at her with no words to say. "Hello, Alec." She said, and he gave her a slight nod, gently reaching out to hold her hand in his, "You look very nice". As she spoke the last sentence, he raised her hand to his lips, planting a kiss on it before looking up at her once more, "You look beautiful." He merely muttered.
Once he was standing straight again, Alec reached a hand into his pocket, pulling out a locket hanging off a golden necklace, "I saw this the other day and I thought of you. I hope you like it. Now you have something to remember me by.. When I go home." It seemed tragic to him, for the simple fact that this was practically their only chance to have each other for almost a full night, and he intended to make the most of it, "turn around"
The darn smile didn't leave his face, as he walked closer, moving to stand beside her. He didn't want to do anything else. No ball mattered, no dance, no tournament, it all seemed so silly at that moment, and he wanted nothing more than to be with her, somewhere where he could just hold her hand and tell her everything she wanted to know. HOWEVER, The regulations were to be followed and even Alec Aichios couldn't find his away around them.

Seeing him finally notice her was breathe taking to say the least. She could not help but allow a smile to wash over her own features as he seemed to smile at her in sort of a dazed look. Was she really that pretty? Emma never really thought about being pretty, she was a military brat and it was the last thing that was on her mind. Hell, on her off days she wore partial military uniform when she worked out so she could get into the habit for when she finally went to Basic Training. As he walked towards her, he stopped right in front of her and looked at her.
The feeling of his hand taking her own felt wonderful and she glanced down at his own hand for a moment before letting her eyes drift back up to meet his own. As his lips touched her hands, she felt her cheeks burn with passion and she was thankful she had used make up. "You look beautiful." She gave a soft, gentle smile and tucked some hair from her face to the side of her ear and smiled slightly, glancing down before back up to see the golden locket that was dangling from his fingers. "I saw this the other day and I thought of you. I hope you like it. Now you have something to remember me by... When I go home." His accent was so thick and she felt her eyes mist a little as he mentioned returning home. She honestly wished he would not go, she did not want to see him go. "I won't forget you, Alec... I expect letters during the summer and from now on... Maybe a visit if it can happen."
She said lightly as he moved over towards her with the necklace. "Turn around." She smiled and turned, feeling the slightly cool change touch he skin and then as it was latched she turned back around.
She touched it as it was placed on her neck and looked back at him. "Thank You Alec... It is Beautiful." She said, glancing down to just barely see it, but see it none the less. She could not help but smile at it before she looked at him. [/blockquote] WORD COUNT 0.365 COMMENT ^_^ TAGGED Alec Aichios SONG none STATUS done/open/alec [/blockquote]

The Yule Ball was tonight and part of Angelique wanted to dance around like a little girl and shriek at the top of her lungs, she had a date, she had a dress. Everything was going to be absolutely perfect! She had arranged to meet Chase at the grand staircase or whatever the stairs that moved were called. The champions apparently started with a traditional dance which made the blonde girl feel a little nervous, she didn't want to accidentally fall or make a fool of herself in front of everybody else at the ball. Goodness that would be awful.
Like most of the Beauxbatons female students, Angelique had chosen to dress in an elegant, floor length gown. It was much more suitable for a champion and representative of Beauxbatons than anything too short or gaudy at least that had been what Madame Maxime had said, she had slipped into Hogwarts itself and a girl's bathroom on the fourth floor to get changed. Mainly because she wanted to make an entrance coming down the steps themselves. With everything and one last nervous look around, Angelique made her way down the stairs gaining a few stares as she did so. Now all she had to do was wait for Chase to arrive. TAGGED: everyone! Lydia Cassiopeia Black really did not care for dresses nor did she care for the whole "You must wear something appropriate for the date of a champion" nonsense, she wanted to wear what she wanted. Which would have been a non fitting dress and maybe some tights. But unfortunately her roommates got to her. The dress Marlene Black nee McKinnon had sent to her daughter had promptly been shoved in the back of her trunk and ignored, until it was found and forced upon her. Lydia did not like any of this, she was just going with her best friend!
Even if he was one of two champions representing Hogwarts. Either way she'd been forced into a dress and was standing there in her dorm, being fussed over by a bunch of girls. Representing the female population of Gryffindor was she? No pressure there then? Lydia slid down the seventh floor staircase before being scolded by one of the other girls, oh she had to act like a lady did she? But soon enough she was leaning against the door of the great hall waiting for Harry to show up. Hopefully he wasn't just going to ditch her for somebody like Lavender Brown or something. tag Everybody words 205 lyrics what the water gave me - florence + the machine credit a girl with kaleidoscope eyes @ caution 2.0 notes Lydia's wearing this

As Tanis entered the ball with Tom Riddle, she could honestly say that she was feeling three things. Nervous, powerful, and annoyed. Tanis Gaunt didn't understand why she was feeling nervous. She never got nervous. Ever. But for tonight, she was. After all, she did have some pressure on her. She was the date of Tom Riddle. Expectations of her tonight would be higher than they normally were. Tanis was used to being known as that weird, emo girl that hung out with snakes. She had to be more dignified this night, and pray that nobody pissed her off. She didn't bring a calming draught with her, so there would be practically nothing to ease her anger. So for once in her life, she was actually nervous.
The power she felt? Well, she was standing above the others at the moment. She was on the arm of a champion, even if she held no attraction to him in the slightest. Girls would be jealous of her, that was for sure. But once again, they better not piss Tanis off. So she definitely felt more power over her peers than usual.
And there was the annoyance. Mainly for two reasons. 1; she still didn't know what Tom's motive for asking her to the ball was. She needed to find out why he chose her, when he could have gone with Desdemona Lestrange, or some other wealthy pureblood. And 2; the dirty glances Tanis was currently getting. Tanis never cared for the opinion of people, but they could at least respect her for one damn ball night. Tanis adjusted the green rose she was given. She had put it behind her ear and was hoping it would stay in place. She took in a breath as she awaited the start of the ball.

Was Chase nervous as Hell? Yes. Words couldn't describe how nervous he was. He was so afraid that he'd mess up the first dance with Angelique. He was afraid he'd do something or say something really stupid and embarrass himself and his school. But at the same time, he was excited. He had a date to the Yule Ball, and it was with an amazing girl. Sure it was only as friends, but it was better than nothing. He walked through the school until he reached the moving staircase that lead to the Great Hall. There he found Angelique in a very beautiful floor length gown. He delicately held the white rose corsage in his hand as he approached her. "'Ello Angelique. You look beautiful." Chase couldn't hide the smalle blush that emerged when he held out the corsage. "Um... this is for you."

HARRY JAMES POTTER
Harry pulled his dress robe over his head, checking to make sure he looked good for the ball. His father had bought the robes when they had found out about the tri-wizard tournament and made sure that everything was ready for his son. Harry was lucky to have two wonderful parents that loved him so much. ”Hey Harry! You are going to be late, Lydia left like five minutes ago!” Harry jumped around quickly. He was going to meet her in the common room, or so he thought. He grabbed his wand, putting it in his sleeve and rushing out the door.
As he moved among his other peers, he heard talk that Emma Richardson, a half blood from the United States was dating Alec Aichios, the Durmstrang champion. He did not know why, but something was off about him, something he had seen before in one other person whom he knew. Soon, he turned the corner to the great hall and saw Alec greeting Emma, who was dressed in a beautiful green dress. He noticed Tom Riddle was also there, but Harry eyes landed on Lydia. She was beautiful this evening, absolutely beautiful. The black dress was so simple and elegant, perfect for the ball and really any occasion. ”Good Evening Lydia.”
He said, bowing to her slightly and giving her a smile. ”You look beautiful, Lydia.”

Larry entered the Great Hall. Alone.
She wasn't really expecting to have a date, so showing up without one wasn't disappointing or surprising. She was actually kind of glad she had no date. She could flit around and visit with her few friends and do as she please without anyone weighing her down. Her room-mates were determined to make Larry pretty for this event, so they convinced her to buy a tie-dye, floor length halter dress and strappy silver heels. Larry was wearing the dress, but not the heels. They'd just get in the way of her dancing. She watched as the champions slowly filed into the ballroom, as well as other students. Larry smiled as she saw people. She knew tonight was going to be a fun night.
Dances were precisely Kip’s social style – well, once you got past the fact that most people would have a date and would therefore spend all night focusing on said date, fervently praying it goes well. Sure, it would probably start out rather formal, but that didn’t mean it would stay that way. He wasn’t the most glamorous of dancers, but that didn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun. That was exactly what he deemed it would be. Fun. Despite the annoying fact that he had to dress up, it would be great. He glanced over himself another time. Brown tailored trousers, a crème colored shirt, brown shoes, matching suspenders and a bow tie, all underneath a deep red cloak. Missing something. He was missing something. But what?
Fifteen minutes later, when he was practically skipping down the steps, he had found what he was missing. A fedora was in his hand as he spun around another bend. It wasn’t a date, as he had feared. He just needed the right finishing touch. The cloak would be conveniently misplaced as soon as the real dancing started. He was practically beaming, even as he stumbled over a step and slipped to the landing below. He glanced around quickly. Brushing himself off, he scooped up his hat and continued on his merry way. The Yule Ball. Whew, how exciting!
Kip hadn’t even put any thought into a date. At least, not very intense thought. The only thing he might have considered was going with a friend, but he had shrugged that off. Nobody was going to get in the way of him enjoying himself. He didn’t really want to deal with ditching a girl if she was a stick-in-the-mud or, ugh, tried to throw herself all over him. That would’ve been awkward. He wasn’t sure how he would’ve talked his way out of that one. Still, being alone didn’t appear to bother him as he sauntered into the Great Hall, taking a quick look around. Couple, couple, couple. He nearly rolled his eyes. He’d find people to dance with, regardless. Or he’d just join the crowd and dance that way. It didn’t matter. A light smile found his face as he situated the fedora on an empty seat off to one side.
Formality first, then the fun would begin.

Caius stood near the entrance of the Great Hall, watching the students and their dates walk into the Yule Ball. On occasion there would be students without dates. Caius was only here as a chaperone to make sure the students kept within Hogwarts' school rules, as were most of the other professors. However, Caius' mind wasn't on the Yule Ball or even the desire to see if Violet was being safe and having fun on that night. One woman consumed all of his thoughts at that moment.
Celia.
He desperately missed his deceased wife. Sure it was four years ago, but Caius still wished, every day, in fact, that Celia could still be with him. She would have loved coming to the Yule Ball. Which led Caius to think of her even more. Caius let a sad smile as he thought of what it would've been like to dance with Celia that night. But Caius would never know. He could only enjoy watching his students and his daughter have fun tonight.

She rolled her eyes at Harry when he bowed at her and playfully whacked him on the head with the purse she'd brought with her. Meh he would be used to it by now wouldn't he? Anyway Lydia only injured the people she somewhat liked, unless she really, really didn't like them. Then they'd be sorry. "Look at you all dressed up, have you seen Malfoy? He looks like a bleeding Vicar!" Anyway they were only here as friends weren't they, at least she thought that from the way Harry had ended up asking her. It wasn't as if she was his girlfriend or anything despite what some people thought. "Anyway what does champion duty require of you this evening Potter? I heard randomers from the ministry and stuff might be coming so who knows Dad might be here." Since Lydia was very much her father's daughter and a daddy's little girl to boot, she hoped that he would be here. It would be nice to have him there. tag Everybody words idk lyrics what the water gave me - florence + the machine credit a girl with kaleidoscope eyes @ caution 2.0 notes Lydia's wearing this

"I suppose we should," Chase said in response to Angelique. He hoped she didn't notice the light flush on his face after she kissed his cheeks in the traditional French fashion. He offered Angelique his arm as he prepared to enter the Great Hall.

Why she had come to the ball in the first place, she could no longer remember. She didn't have a date – not that she needed one anyway, but she didn't have one regardless. She didn't actually have any friends to hang out with, so why she had bothered getting dressed up and attending in the first place was a question she kept asking herself as she made her way down the grand staircase, towards the room where the ball was being held. Essentially, she was on her way to sit by herself and drink punch by herself and listen to music by herself and dance by herself. And for a moment, she felt a touch of regret at having been so cold towards her fellow students. But she didn't ever want to be pushed around, but in making herself so independent, she had pushed everyone but her brothers so far away that they may as well be out of reach. She shrugged off this thought as quickly as it had come, and continued towards the ball.
Maybe she'd just chill with her brothers while she was there. She was sure that both would have dates for the night. Yeah, that's what she would do, socialize with them. She didn't need her fellow students, she had two brothers. That was good enough. But as she stepped into the ballroom, looking elegant in her dark red dress, she found that she couldn't see either of her brothers anywhere. And as she made her way to the drinks table for a goblet full of punch, she likely looked as though she'd been stood up.[/ul]
She wasn't really expecting to have a date, so showing up without one wasn't disappointing or surprising. She was actually kind of glad she had no date. He'd been flip-flopping between coming to the ball or not. He didn't particularly have a reason not to other then the slightly major fact that he was terrified of large crowds, couldn't stand loud noises, and had no friends in the castle.
But those really were minor weren't they?
The young boy had mustered on the courage to throw on a rather old set of dress-robes and trudge into the great hall. He was late to the ball itself which didn't matter much. He was here more to say 'yes I went' if his father or anyone else asked him.
He looked around for a few minutes and almost turned to leave when he saw someone he almost recognized. She was in his house, there was no doubt about it but...other then that he had no idea who she was. She was alone, which was how he felt and the eleven year old mustered an almost painful-to-watch smile before waddling over to her in the to-large robes. he sat int eh chair next to her and attempted to be casual. "This whole thing is rather...isn't it? I never thought it'd...but I I wanted to at least... for a bit." Weather it was the fact that the music was blaring incredibly loudly or that the boy was a soft speaker (or quite possibly a combination of both) but many of his words were lost.
Katie wasn't much for balls. In fact, she was rather clumsy when she wasn't on her broom, which meant that, generally speaking, she avoided things like this at all costs. but she was going as Fred's date. A date. With Fred. Katie. She could hardly not go - she liked him way too much for that. So there she was, standing just outside the ball, chewing on her lip. Maybe she was dressed strangely for this - everyone else seemed to have really... traditional (ugly?) dresses, and hers was really plain but sort of short. She hoped he didn't think she looked like a slag or something. Suddenly, Katie was incredibly nervous. Every red head that walked by was suspect and made her heart race. When would Fred arrive?
