HARRY JAMES POTTER
Harry moved down towards the Black Lake, turning around as he could not see Lydia. Where was she?! He rubbed the back of his neck as he tried to think and looked around for a moment. So many people, once again, his heart was pumping in his chest and he could not think about anything but the task and the fact that Lydia was not here! He thought over everything and remembered that the egg said something was in the lake… He had been able to realize that you had to open it underwater. He had tried opening it everywhere, but it was when he needed to relax that he had figured it out and went to the bathroom and taken a bath. ”Come and see us where our voices sound… We cannot sing above the ground… One hour long you have to look… To recovered what we took…” What could they have taken? He rubbed his eyes as he finally got on a boat with a few other people and he felt it head towards the middle of the lake.
As they finally made it to the platform, he looked around… She was not here either and it seemed that a few others were missing. He would have expected to see Emma Richardson here for Alec and she was gone as well. That was very confusing and he wondered what the hell was going on. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the water. He could use the bubble charm for sure, it would be the easiest and he knew a spell that could push him through the water, but he would just move through carefully. He did not want to go past whatever was stashed from them. He took in a deep breath and waited to see what would happen… WORD COUNT 0.303 COMMENT ^_^ Since we can interact, I figured this might be fun to just start and maybe wait for the others. LILY ALICE EVANS
Lily was at home when she had recieved the invitation to the Twizarding Tournement. It was something she had known a great deal about, having been the Head girl in Hogwarts for quiet sometime. This was really not a new thing, if anything it was repeated from year to year and Lily was was anxious when she heard her son would be one of the contestants.
Having spent most of the day getting ready, picking something nice to wear and doing her hair. It mattered not if her son could see her directly, but she wanted to be there. That would be enough, that she was there and watching over her baby. Lily would then take a boat to Hogwarts where she would meet with Professor Dumbledore with whom would inform her about where the Tournement was being held and whatever changes were to be accounted for. Lily couldn't help but feel a sense of pride to be back and to see the school for a second time you will. It really was something.
Once she decided she was ready she walked outside her home and began to make her way towards Hogwarts. The walk was long, but she loved walking it was a childhood habit. Not much later she found herself taking a boat ride to Hogwarts and smiled as she saw just how beautiful it was outside.. This would be the day.. She thought to herself.

It was time for the second task and Angelique would be lying if she said that she wasn't nervous. A nice prefect she thought they called it who wore yellow robes had taken her into the prefect's bathroom so she could open the egg underwater and she was going into the lake. Though the fact that she had something precious taken from her and hidden and she would have to find it worried her. What precious thing could they have taken from her? A lot of things were precious to Angelique but which one would they have taken from her?
As she saw the crowd, the blonde searched the crowd and calmed a little when she saw Chase offering him an uncharacteristically shy wave. But what or who could they have taken from her. She knew that she was going to use the bubblehead charm and was prepared to use any means necessary to get to the thing which was most precious to her. Angelique settled herself into a boat which was taking her across the black lake and neatly tied her hair away from her face in a ponytail as she was taken across the murky waters very quickly.
Then she was there and saw Harry, one of the Hogwarts champions was the first one there and Angelique smiled at him and walked over "I 'Ope you do well in zis task." the blonde said offering her hand for a shake and tried to make conversation whilst they were forced to wait for the others. "What do you think they would have taken from us?"

Chase followed some of his classmates from their rooms to the large lake near Hogwarts castle known to them as the Black Lake. The chilly wind nipped at Chase and he stuck his hands further into his brown coat pocket. He'd be lying if he said he was excited about this task. Chase feared for Angelique's sake. From what she had told him before the task, the golden egg that had a screech worse than nails on a chalkboard sang a song when submerged underwater. The song basically said that the champions would have to be underwater for an hour to find something stolen from them. And not just something, something very precious to the champions. Chase wasn’t sure what that would be for Angelique, or any of the other champions, and Angelique didn’t seem to be sure either.
He noticed Angelique turn around and look in the crowd. When her gaze found Chase, Chase smiled somewhat and she gave an unnaturally shy wave. Chase waved back and mouthed, ‘Stay safe’ to her. She then left on one of the boats that went across the lake and to stands on the water. Chase sighed and prayed to whatever divine being existed for the safety of all the champions. Chase finally got a boat the stands, and waited patiently for a few minutes before it actually reached said stands. Chase went to one of the lower levels of the stands. He didn’t quite trust himself being up high on a giant floating raft. Not to mention that he wanted a better visual for when the champions got out of the water. He wanted to see what was stolen for each of them. He watched as Angelique began to talk to one of the Hogwarts champions, the one from the red and gold house. Chase brushed off the slight pang of jealousy, telling himself that it was not necessary. Chase pulled a small thermos of coffee from his coat and took a sip of the warm, rich coffee. After all, for Chase, coffee made everything better.

HARRY JAMES POTTER
The morning felt chilly, but he was not going to allow anything to get his mind on what he had to do... Something was down at the bottom of Black Lake and he had to find it and bring it back in a hour. He knew the bubble head charm would do the trick, but was there anything else he could use to make him go faster. Oh sure, a simple blast spell could push him through the water to get what he needed, but he did not want to over look anything either.
As he stood at the edge, looking into the dark water, he looked up to see that his mother was getting on a boat and he smiled. She was gonna get to come to the Second task as well. He knew the first one probably caused her more of a heart attack then anything and he prepared a place with all his stuff on a chair near the area he was in. He knew that no one would touch it because he would kill them, but he knew his mother would notice it was his stuff. It was a extra towel for himself and also a extra shirt for himself. It was cold and that water was freezing.
As he turned, he noticed that Angelique was coming onto the platform and he pulled at his shirt slightly to fix the arms. "I 'Ope you do well in zis task." He smiled and nodded. "Same to you... I never got around to tell you, but you looked beautiful at the ball."
He said, knowing that he did not want any relationships soured by the tournament. He hoped that he could keep in touch with some of the champions, other then Riddle.
"What do you think they would have taken from us?" He looked over at her and let out a sight. "I have no idea... But I am gonna find out..." [/blockquote] WORD COUNT 0.318 COMMENT ^_^ TAGGED Everyone SONG none STATUS done [/blockquote]
Barnabas stood by the lakeside, shivering slightly. It was a very fresh April morning, probably not helped by the fact that he was standing by a large body of water at nine am. But this was a very significant news article and he needed to be here to oversee the task and some of his more enthusiastic underlings. Rita Skeeter, for instance. Although she was a fabulous, fabulous journalist and sold lots of papers, she did have a tendency to go to town on some of her pieces. The reputation of the Prophet was freefalling though, under Barny’s own watch! The facts had to be in order before the speculation and he was here in Scotland at this godforsaken time of the morning to make sure that they were.
Harry Potter was first to arrive at the Black Lake. Barny watched with a critical eye as he took a boat to the centre of the lake, where he himself was spectating. Was he nervous? He certainly seemed to be jumpy, looking around carefully at everyone in the boats and the stands.
“Let’s call it nerves.” Barny seemingly said to himself, but beside him, his quill began to ink words across the page. He’d had this quill for twenty years and it was by far his favourite. Still quick, it expanded on his words in a way Barny liked. In the beginning it had just taken things down word-for-word, but shortly after it had gone one step further and began to fill in the gaps. Now Barny looked down and there were two sentences when he had said only four words.
The Beauxbatons champion, Angelique Devereaux arrived. Even an aging man like Barny could appreciate her raw beauty, but she was waving to a guy in the stands, a boy Barny vaguely recognised as her Yule Ball partner. He told this to his quill and concentrated on the interaction between the two champions. It just looked like the regular ‘good luck, hope you don’t drown’ kind of conversation. Contemplating, Barny decided it probably wasn’t worth bugging. Rita, to his irritation, had probably found a way to record it perfectly, and whilst Barny had no desire to know how, it did save him a job.
Checking the quill’s notes over, Barny waited for the other champions to arrive with a delicious sense of anticipation.

Cedrella walked out from behind the stands, she was heading towards the seats and could see Lily Potter just passing her towards where Harry would be. Cedrella looked confused for a moment not sure exactly how to take that as she walked up towards the benches. She could see a few other Slytherin's there as well. One of which was Snape and she flashed him a fast smile as she took a seat in the very middle of the stand. She wanted to best view and she wanted nobody's head in the way.
She had heard very briefly that her sister would be participating in this as an aid to Tom Riddle. She didn't know the boy well, nor did she care about him in the least. However she was going to see her sister do well no matter what and prove the Black name by helping this boy. She also knew her parents would be coming soon and they too would be intrigeed to see what this Riddle boy packed so far as tournaments came.
As she watched she could see a short hello being exchanged between Harry Potter and Angelique. She knew about them both but never really spoke to them. She never spoke to anyone really except the people related to her. Licking her lip as she straightened her back and glanced around the arena, she couldn't help but wonder what the first task was. Were they prepared?. It was always something to see. She sighed as she covered her mouth and noticed another Slytherin walk by and sit next to her. Who was this?, he looked very handsome but she decided to keep quiet.
” Tom greeted the fairy princess from Beauxbatons. And then he acknowledged the presence of his adversary. “Potter.” The champion from Durmstrang had failed to arrive, and Tom wondered if perhaps the boy had changed his mind about showing up altogether. Perhaps he'd rather shame his school but spend more of his 'precious time' with that silly Gryffindor girl he'd been fawning over since he arrived – the one that he'd heard several girls gossiping about, for why did she deserve the handsome pureblood from the land to the north? Everyone was gossiping about the champions now – they were famous. Well, Tom didn't care if the Durmstrang Champion failed to show his face, it just meant one less person to defeat.
Sure, he'd been temporarily satisfied on the night of the Yule Ball, when he'd managed to convince his cousin Tanis Gaunt to unveil the long-guarded truth about the Chamber of Secrets to him. Sure, she'd told him next to nothing about it, hardly anything that he hadn't known prior, but he'd assured that his research had revealed to him the truth. But that had only been temporary satisfaction. He'd made mistakes in obtaining that information – he'd revealed to Tanis the fact that he sought to know about the Chamber of Secrets. Yes, it had been a quick and effective way to force the information out of the young woman, but he now recognized that his impatience had lead him astray – he'd made another grave mistake. Tanis would suspect him the moment the first muggleborn was attacked. But she would side with him – if only because he would hold a power she lacked, and that made him a great deal more powerful than she.
He hadn't yet managed to find the opening of the Chamber, although he had wasted no time in searching for the emblem of Salazar Slytherin in the school. He had not been victorious in the first challenge. Something had now been stolen from him, and he had been unable to figure out just what he was lacking. He'd made far too many mistakes in the past term at Hogwarts than he had made in his prior five years attending the school. He'd have to be more careful, else he would make more grievous missteps and he'd be his own downfall. And on top of that, he observed that Desdemona was not where he expected her to be, on the edges of the spectators, providing her unfaltering loyalty to him, telling him that he'd be victorious. Stroking his ego now, when he sought it the most.
He didn't need Desdemona – that would imply that he felt for her. No, he just preferred her presence because of the way she doted upon him. Tom Riddle felt nothing for anyone but himself, and his emotional range was rather limited. He felt anger and rage, and satisfaction and power – the latter two he had come to confuse as true happiness, for his life was otherwise completely devoid of joy. But pleasure came in the form of making others squirm – the feeling of power that gave him. On the other range of the spectrum, he felt rage, but the only emotion between those two extremes was none at all.
As he stood on the edge of the platform, staring into the dark depths of the Black Lake, Tom felt his blood beginning to boil. Today wasn't pleasing to him, and if things didn't begin to improve soon, someone was going to get hurt.

Ginny took some time to come to on the morning of the second task. It started at nine o'clock so she had to be up extra early, but her traitorous mind had obviously decided that it'd like to sleep in, thank you very much and she jerked awake at ten to nine. The dorm was totally empty, everyone had gone down to the lake, and Ginny took a moment to curse the fact that her dorm mates hadn't bothered to wake her up, lazy bastards.
Hurrying, she pulled on the jumpers she had received for the last two Christmases and jammed a woolly hat over her scarlet locks and flaming red ears. If it was cold up here inside Gryffindor tower, then it was almost certainly going to be freezing down by the lake. She hopped into her socks then raced down through an unusually empty common room. The upper floors were almost deserted but she was relieved to hear a hum from the Great Hall which told her that some stragglers were still eating breakfast. Ignoring the growl within her stomach, she slowed her pace down to a walk and reached the boats at a minute before nine. She could see the champions that were already there, Harry and that Beauxbatons girl were engaged in conversation and it looked like Riddle had just arrived. Ginny snorted to herself. Whoever had let pureblood elitist scum like that become a Hogwarts champion?
Ginny waved at Harry, hoping her encouraging smile was visible from the distance between them and felt excitement twist and build within her, the Tournament really appealed to her sense of adventure. It was a shame that she had been too young to enter, but after seeing the first task she was glad, although the dragons had looked amazing, that she was not participating. Looking for familiar faces in the stands, she shrugged defeat, hoping that someone would come and share her anticipation.

=============
This morning his mood was so high that he could even hug a mudblood, smiling and even saying something nice, okay that would be a little too odd. Even if he was so happy that he broke into tears he wouldn't touch a mudblood that way. So, forget the first part. Anyway, today could be called a good day for him. When he woke up early in the morning, everything was in order. All the delayed homework from who-knows-how-long were finished as less crappy as possible. Raynard had gone somewhere too, good, he didn't expect any company anytime soon.
The fifth year Slytherin checked the time after his breakfast time in the Great Hall and decided it was time to get changed and go. Today was also the day of the Triwizard second task, which he would be willingly spare time to come and watch. Nothing really went wrong until he was reminded by a roommate about the location of the second task. His mood went from super high to nearly died. Right, how could he forget that little detail?! It was the Black Lake... A lake... And not just any lake... The Black Lake... That giant lake outside of Hogwarts. Last night he had spent a lot of time lying on the bed to reconsider he should come there or not. If it was just Harry Potter he wouldn't have been bothered by his hydrophobic problem and just decide to stay inside the school. But it was Tom Riddle who was also competing. Between Tom and his own stupid phobia, he would rather try to surpress his fear to stand and watch the show. If he wanted to show his goodwill, going was the best choice right now.
Thus, he was there. Standing at the bank of the lake, staring at the dark water. It looked very deep. Of course it was. It was the biggest lake he had ever seen in his entire live so far, and his first impression of it when he was a first year wasn't good either. The rest of the following days after the sorting ceremony, what kept on bugging his mind was ' They are so damn rich, why didn't they use bridge instead of self-rowing mini-boats? 'Later he came to a conclusion : They are stupid bastards who loved putting kids into danger. Just like right now, it seemed they thought building spectator view-towers in the middle of the lake was a pretty good idea. Horatio looked up to see the towers full of people. The encourage him to get going greatly because he wouldn't want anyone to notice that he was scared. His surviving instinct wanted him to run, and he gulped, taking a few deep breaths, he eventually got on a boat along with some other people. He wasn't an eleven years old kid anymore, so he didn't tremble like he was back then. Just very tensed, the weather was cool, but he swore his hands were covered in sweat. Skipping the part he got to the tower for Hogwarts student, the part the climbed up those stairs, Horatio managed to slip himself to the front balcony of the tower, now the view was perfect.
From where he was, he could see the champions standing together. The Beauxbatons champion, a blonde girl. He wouldn't be truthful if he said she wasn't good looking. She did a very good job in the first task, or so he heard, he didn't attend that one. Blame him for lacking attention and forgot the fire was too big, the potion exploded and he was sent straight to the Hospital Wing to get the effect of the failed potion off him and had to stay there for the next two days. That was a bad experience, he didn't even want to think of it. He regreted that he couldn't be there at the first task. He had missed a chance to truely see living and in-action dragons, and more importantly the true Hogwarts champion, Tom Riddle, in action.
And there was Harry Potter, the annoying Griffindor who dared to stand in Tom's way. He did have skill, yes, Horatio admitted that. However, in his eyes, Potter was still far behind Riddle, the head of Slytherin. As for the Champion from Dumbstang... Durmstrang... whatever that school was, his mind had automatically put that person aside. Thus, he just ignored the fact that there were only three competitors this time.
Now that he was high above the water, he felt a little more relaxed. Gambling his life on the bars of the balcony, the Slytherin leaned forward with his arms folded on the top bar. It better not break and throw him down there. Minus his fear of the water below, the scene was rather nice. He was enjoying the strong, chilly wind when he was up high.

Raynard Alphonse Bardock sitting up in the top of the stands, sprawled out lazily in his seat, fully enjoying having one day without the constant threat of his OWL exams hovering over him, like a massive low flying thunderhead. He'd been going through himself balancing studying, with his recreational agenda. (ie: The Knights and Horatio.) As he glanced around, waiting for Bagman to start the commentary, (however that was supposed to work, when all the contestants where underwater. -seriously Wizards needed to get with the 20th century, and invent magical camcorders, and Televisions. If Muggles could do it without a lick of magic than there was no reason wizards couldn't do the same. They'd done it with Radios after all!- ) he spotted someone familiar nearby...
At first Ray was sure that he was seeing things, after all, that couldn't possible have been Horatio down there, leaned out over the railing like that. After all Horatio was terrified of the Black Lake, absolutely petrified. Usually you couldn't get him with in ten yards of the massive body of water without the imminent threat of severe injury to his person looming over his head. (And sometimes not even then.) So no, that couldn't have been Horatio. No, it was probably one of that Chang girl from Ravenclaws relatives. Or maybe one of the Li girl from Hufflepuff's elder siblings. But certainly not Horatio, no, never. Besides, if it had been Horatio, he'd have been sitting up beside Talitha wherever she'd gotten to...
Ray paused, scowling slightly, but actually... That did really look like Horatio... and he was wearing what appeared to be a Hogwarts uniform. Still, it couldn't possibly be him... Buuut maybe Ray would go down and check, you know, just in case the natural laws of the universe had been flipped on their head, (again) and that really was Horatio down there.
Standing up, the teen carefully inched his way past Selwyn, and Greyback, and then made his way down to where the other boy was standing. By the time he was half ways down to him, Ray was sure without a doubt that that could be no one other that Horatio.
'That sneak! He did come after all!' Ray thought, a little put out, 'He came, and he didn't tell me, or even look for me!'
An evil idea blossomed in the young Slytherins' head just then. Oh he'd give Horatio a good scare! smiling like the devil, the young man crept down, silent as a cat to Horatio, and then, straightening, with a big grin, he slapped Horatio's back in way of greeting with a loud cheerful, "Oi Fuuji-poo!!"

"How long is it going to take now?" Horatio was getting bored with the sky. Looking down was scary thanks to the water and it gave him an uneasy feeling thus he had been staring at the sky. However, it was rather boring, just some birds and random clouds creeping by. Now if something more interesting would happen, the start of the second task could be a good one. When were they going to start it anyway? They must be waiting for the fourth competitor, he had forgotten about the Durmstrang champion. Guess that person got scared and decided not to come. He didn't care actually, he wasn't going to compete anyway, which was disappointing to his uncle, he kept on sending letters about that.
Just as he was beginning to think that he should go back inside so he wouldn't be staring at the damn lake anymore, a truely terrifying thing happened...
"Oi Fuuji-poo!!" An extremely familiar voice shouted, along with a hard slap on the back. One, Horatio was so distracted that he didn't expect it. Two, he was busy thinking. Three, he had forgotten about that particular person. All combined with various other reasons had led to the scene that he would never forget, might even need a therapist after this. The slap on the back made the Slytherin lost his balance. Half of Horatio's body went passed the railings, his legs slipped, his arms waved hopelessly, trying to catch something, but, unless he could touch the air, there was nothing for him to hold on. " Kuso...KUso.. KUSOOO!!!" He yelled silently within his own mind.
Wait, no, this wasn't the time to be thinking that. His wand. His wand! Where was the freaking wand? He felt like he was frozen. Not enough time. He could see his future clear as daylight now. He would fall down there, faster than he could even pull his wand out to save himself. He would face-slam on the platform below, die in a messy way, if not, broken all his bones. He could be luckier and land himself into the lake, same outcome, but it would be a less messy way to die though. Either way, he would still die. He swore to Merlin he would haunt Raynard until that boy couldn't handle it anymore and throw himself out the highest Hogwarts tower. If he did survive, consider that boy was dead then!

Ray honestly hadn't been expecting such a... volatile reaction. And instinctively reached out, with Quidditch honed reflexes, and deftly caught his best friend by the heels before he could fall down into the lake. And then struggled to yank the taller heavier boy back up over the rails. Having been raised as a Muggle, the idea of getting his wand, never crossed Raynard's mind, and instead he saved his friend the hard way, both falling back in a crumpled heap, with Horatio laying down near Ray's feet.
Sitting up, his heart hammering wildly in his chest, Raynard schooled his features as best he could to hide his shock, and instead smiled tightly, "Now Fuji-bear, I know you're worried about Marvels, but jumping down in the lake with him is hardly the answer. In fact... I'm pretty sure that would be a violation... unless they mistook you for the Durmstrang Champion that is! .... which I seriously doubt will happen..."
Ray looked around, and was pleased to see that the rest of their house mates where still a bunch of uncaring assholes, and that no one else had made any move to help, several of the upper years were actually sitting nearby pointing and laughing about the whole thing. Blushing in anger, Ray looked away back toward Horatio, to check and make sure the other boy was all right, he hadn't even thought, but Horatio could have been injured, either in the intial fall, or when he'd yanked him back up.
'True that could have all been avoided, if I'd have used my wand... funny that I'm only just now thinking of it. I wonder if that's what the others were laughing about... I must have looked pretty ridiculous...' Ray thought, some of his initial anger abating.

This was it.. His moment, but instead of being there to enjoy it, to fight for victory, Alec was not on the platform yet.. A few hours earlier he was supposed to meet up with Emma as planned. They wanted to spend some time together the previous night but due to the rain it was impossible. Letters were sent the next morning and the day was supposed to be theirs until the task begun, the issue was that she never showed up, no one had any idea where she was, where she went or what happened to her. He was worried and for a little while he completely forgot all about the task.
It was only when he ran into a Gryffindor girl that he found out where she was. The girl told him that their Head of house pulled Emma out of bed late at night saying the headmaster needed to see her.. It took him a few moments to analyse it, to figure out what was going on.. The egg made no sense at first but then.. It became obvious.. She was the precious item they stole from her and while he wandered around the castle, she was in the depths of the black lake, awaiting him.
Taking a look at his watch, then down at Damaris beside him, Alec ran toward the black lake, the tiger already a few feet ahead, as if the animal was trying to clear Alec's path from any people that might slow him down. He was almost there, and for the first time in his life he wasn't sure if he could make it in time.. Was she even breathing ? Would she die after the hour ends ? It all burned him inside out and still he ran, confident that he was up for it.
He almost reached the platform, he saw his classmates and friends cheer at his appearance. Usually, he would have enjoyed the little pride display but he was quite worried. Pulling his vest off, wand at hand, Alec stood strong, impatient, awaiting the signal.

HARRY JAMES POTTER
“Mademoiselle.” The sound of his rival's voice came to his ears and he turned to see Tom greeting the other school's champion before turning towards him. "Potter.” Harry nodded to the fellow champion and looked over the platform. He turned to look for his friend, Lydia was no where in sight and he could not understand where she was. He rubbed the back of his neck and let out a sigh as he looked around. As he looked up, he noticed a particular red head looking towards him and he smiled, sending her a wave back before he saw the Durmstrang student get close. "Better late then never I guess, right?"
Harry said with a smile on his face, but there was a determination in his eyes that made Harry wondered why he was so determined.
He was late and soon, the headmaster was making an announcement and Alec was already prepared to go into the lake. Harry did the same, removing his hoodie and handing it to a fellow Gryffindor. As they waited for their signal, Harry looked at Alec and wondered why he was so tense. He had seems so cool during the first task and now he was stressed... Even Riddle seemed a bit more stressed then the last time they had gone against a task together. Harry started thinking over anything that might have gotten the two so worked up and as he thought he could not figure anything out. He thought over everything and again his eyes went to look for Lydia. As he found her normal crowd, they all shrugged and he rubbed the back of his neck. Where was she? I hurt myself today... To see if I still feel... I focus on the pain... The only thing that's real...
When Alician Black arrived, all the champions had assembled and the stands were packed. Alician didn't really notice, only half awake. Honestly it was too early for all of this. Couldn't they have started at noon? It was the weekend after all! He was supposed to be able to sleep in on the weekend!
"Don't tell me you're still upset that I flipped your mattress." Adrian Cross smiled, walking along beside him with graceful, long legged strides, his shoulder length, dark hair, billowing behind him like a pair of Professor Snape's robes,"This is good for you, getting up, and out to socialize. We wouldn't want you becoming a recluse like my dear cousin Phinius after all."
Alician gave the taller boy a scathing look, icy blue eyes narrowing dangerously, "Forgive me if I don't thank you, but, I honestly don't see the point of coming down here at all really. I mean: Its cold, its ungodly early, and they'll be underwater ninty nine percent of the time the challenge is going on. Honestly I should think that they'd let us stay inside, and just listen to the radio coverage."
He looked up, scanning the stands for his siblings, and spotted his brother Ursus sitting up between his friends, Alexandre Cromwell and Rohesta Banks, with several Beauxbaton students surrounding them. Alician scowled slightly as he noticed the anxious look on his brother's face as the younger boy sat, eyes fixed on the lake. A stressed out Ursus was as foreign an entity as you could get. Alician was immediately on guard, and scanned the stands for their sister Lydia, wondering if she'd noticed Ursus's unease, and, if so, why the Doxy her litte Gryffindor arse wasn't over there, playing the role of supportive older sibling...
He got his answer soon enough. He stopped walking in disbelief, and AGAIN, went over each seat... There was no sign of Lydia, his sister wasn't here... Why wasn't she here??! Harry was about to go jump in an ice cold lake, and possibly die of Hypothermia, or get eaten by some horridly nasty, slimy, little aquatic life form. Liddy should have been down in the front row, screaming out to Harry of her eternal love, and threatening death to anything that dared lay so much as one scaly flipper on her future husband...
Well okay, so the real Lydia would never do that. But Alician almost wished she would. Not only would it be funny as hell, but it would save him the trouble of chasing off anymore of his sister's under qualified, would-be-suitors. (Honestly, some of the people who actually believed that he'd allow them to get away with making a pass at his only sister... It was shocking really... simply astounding.)
He looked down at where the champions where standing... only one down there was aunt Lily... No Lydia. On today of all days? No... Something was wrong here. Very wrong!
"Something the matter then?" Adrian asked looking back at Alician, a single slender brow raised.
"My sister is not here..." Alician said in a slow, deliberately calm manner, fighting to control his rapidly raising temper. "My sister is not here, and my eternally cheery brother, looks like he he might cry."
Adrian's eyes widened in surprise, eyes scanning the stands, and then, stopping on the visibly distressed Ursus. He scowled thoughtfully, "Could she be running late perhaps...?"
"Perhaps..." Alician said tightly, "But I doubt it. She would have usually been one of the first ones here."
'She wouldn't be late today. Anytime else, but not today.' Alician thought darkly.
The two boys turned to look back down at Harry and the other champions, and then back up at Ursus, who sat, clutching Rohesta's hand like a lifeline, as he sat, (face drawn and pale, his eyes and hair there normal dark brown color.) staring unmovingly out toward the middle of the lake... The place the champions where supposed to go.
The inkling of a black idea began to creep into Alician's mind, and scowling darker than a thunderhead the boy once again strided forward, in his brother's direction. He was going to get some answers...
"Me talking" 'Me thinking' "Someone else talking"
And you could have it all... My empire of dirt... I will let you down... I will make you HURT...

It was interesting how someone could react once they realized that something so precious to them had been taken away. Lavinia thought to herself as she walked down to the Black Lake that this was going to be pretty interesting. Nia, Aurora, and Umbridge were walking together as they treaded carefully upon the pathway towards the lake where mysterious creatures lived.
"Nia, aren't you worried about something that is precious to you?" Aurora Magistra asked, already knowing the answer to her question. Aurora smiled cunningly to her best friend.
Lavinia rolled her eyes. "Oh, shush, Aurora. No one but us three are supposed to know about that. If someone does know, then one of you two let it slip," Nia said, pointing at Aurora and Umbridge. All three of them laughed.
There were already a good amount of students waiting for the second task to begin. Lavinia, Aurora, and Umbridge found their seats in an unoccupied area of the stands. It allowed for more privacy for conversations.
Umbridge faced Lavinia. "So what does your father have to say about Riddle?" he asked quietly, his one eyebrow raising ever so slightly.
It was at that moment when Lavinia spotted her father joining the other teachers. She could tell he was looking at her as he sat down so she waved and gave him her innocent smile. He gave her his stern look and waved back at his daughter. Nia knew her father, Professor Severus Snape, was not falling for her innocent look. "I honestly have no idea. We haven't really talked about that topic," Nia whispered.
Aurora lightly slapped both of them on the arms. "Quiet! It's about to start!" she said. Nia and Umbridge laughed. All three sat huddled together and waited patiently for the task to start.

HORATIO FUTARO PADMORE
=============
As he thought his life was over, someone grabbed him. The sudden stop caused his upper body to swing and hit his face on the platform everyone was standing on. Then as the person pulled him up, he hit his face again this time not knowing where because the pain was too much. He felt as if his nose was nearly broken and he had accidentally bit his lip. He fell back in, behind the railings, landing hard on his belly and face. It was definitely the worse image he ever imagine of himself right now.
He pushed himself up, part of his robe was now hanging lower than his shoulder. The Slytherin boy began to fix his clothes, but then halted. No mirror was needed to tell what was wrong with him. Because just when he opened his eyes, he had felt it. Horatio put a hand on his face, then looked at the hand. Red. He was bleeding. His nose was bleeding and his lower lip had a bruise plus a bite mark that seemed like it could start spilling out blood anytime soon.
"Now Fuji-bear, I know you're worried about Marvels, but jumping down in the lake with him is hardly the answer. In fact... I'm pretty sure that would be a violation... unless they mistook you for the Durmstrang Champion that is! .... which I seriously doubt will happen..." Said Ray, the cause of all cost.
He stood up and pointed the wand at himself, waved the wand in a circular movement and then bopped the tip of his wand at his face. "Episkey" His wounds became very hot and then suddenly switched to very cold. An uneasy feeling but all the minor injuries were mended. At least he had reseached enough on a few healing spells. And then a simple spell to clean all those blood up. "Tergeo" Now he was good to go.
" Raynard! " He muttered. Without any warning, Horatio immediately turned around to face his friend. His left hand grasped Ray's shirt and pushed the other boy to the floor whilst his right hand took out the wand in his robe's pocket and pointed it at Ray's face. " Do I look like an idiot who would jump down there? How many time already? First, my brother and now me. Is this just another so called accident of yours? " He said, held the wand threateningly at Ray.
But then he released Ray angrily without doing anything. " But since you also saved me, I'll let you through this time. "

Ursus was literally beside himself, his stomach twisted into a great horrid knot, and he couldn't seem to stop shivering, despite the warm, double layered cloak and a strong heating charm, he felt cold.
He'd came down extra early that morning to wish Harry good luck and get a seat by his sister... Only Lydia hadn't been there. And upon inquiring about his sister's whereabouts, Professor McGonagall had taken him aside, and explained what was going on, and that his sister would be fine... Ursus had been hovering on the verge panicking ever since.
Was she okay? What if the breathing charm failed? she could drown! Was she warm enough?? That lake was freezing! She could get hypothermia! What if Harry didn't get there in time?? They wouldn't really keep her, would they? They couldn't! The Headmaster would never allow that would he?
Hesta, who was already holding his hand, reached over with her free hand, and rubbed his arm, in an effort to help calm him. Ursus looked over and gave the girl a shaky smile. Ursus was sorry he was worrying his friends, but he couldn't help it! His sister was at the bottom of a lake!!
Ursus felt hot, itchy tears prickling at the corners. He sniffled, and rubbed his eyes distractedly, with his free hand, and taking a deep breath, forced himself to look away from the lake finally. He looked around the stands, and was surprised to find they were much fuller than they had been when he had first sat down...
"How long have we been sitting here waiting?" Ursus asked, looking from Hesta to Alexandre.
"An hour or two. The Durmstrang Champion only just got here." Hesta said softly, scowling slightly, and biting her lip, "Where he's been this whole time is anyone's guess."
"Why haven't they started yet though? If everyone's here, they need to get going." Ursus said anxiously.
"No clue. Maybe your brother will know... Though somehow with that look, I don't think questions will be welcome." Alex said, smiling nervously, and looking off down the stands.
Surprised Ursus turned, and looked, paling down as he caught sight of his older brother storming toward them, the look on his face as dark as a thunderhead. The tight knot in Ursus stomach rolled and the boy suddenly felt sick to his stomach.
'He doesn't know. No one's told him a thing, and now, he's coming over and I have to tell him...' Ursus realized. He wasn't afraid that Alician would lash out at him. But at the same time, having to deliver the news that the Headmaster had willingly handed over their beloved sister to a bunch of scary Mermen, who had then taken her to the bottom of the Black Lake, and now, the only way to get her back was for Harry to get to the center of the lake, in less than an hour from the time that the starting whistle sounded or else...
'Or else what? What will happen to any of the hostages that aren't recovered by then?' Ursus thought, feeling sicker by the moment.
Alician raised a hand and waved as he approached.
Ursus raised a hand to chest level, but did not return his brother's greeting, nerves and mind too frazzled to complete the motion. Instead, his eyes once again drifted over to stare at the center of the lake, the place where Lydia was...

tagged: Everyone! words: 567! notes: Poor Ursus. He's always so calm and steady that I think that sometimes people just treat him as an adult, and don't consider that he's actually only a thirteen year old kid, and can't handle some things. He's really worried about Lydia, but, in complete contrast to Alician's reaction of becoming angry at his sister's absence, Ursus instead is actually nearly having a nervous break down, allowing himself to stress out over her disappearance. Of course, Ursus also knows more about what has happened than his brother does. lyrics: "We Are One" from The Lion King II credit: LAVIEBOHEME @ caution 2.o
