Knockturn Alley was the home of dark magic in the wizarding world. Only those were favored dark magic traveled to the cold, dasmall, stone pathways of Knocketurn Alley. Very rare did others venture there. And when they did, the regulars took notice to the intruders.
A dark haired woman was walking around the alley, minding her own business. Lavinia Snape had become somewhat of a regular in Knocketurn Alley. On this warm day, Nia was hoping to run into a good friend as he got off work at the tiny dark magic shop of Borgin and Burke. The girl was recognized by a few of the people walking around as the daughter of Professor Severus Smape at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with being the future wife of Draco Malfoy. Her current family blood ties and future blood ties were quite impressive to some. and others were surprised with those she chose to call friends.
Today was dedicated to her friend named Tom Riddle, a popular young man at school and a young man that would eventually be one of the most powerful wizards in the world. there had been a very tiny handful of Slytherins that thought Lavinia and Tom were destined to be married, but Lavinia and Draco set all of them straight when Severus and Luscius announced the engagement between their children.
Lavinia stood outside of Borgin and Burke, waiting for Tom to come out. She hoped it was going to take too long for the tall, dark, and handsome wizard to walk out of the shop.

- in which he resided over the summer probably wouldn't care much that he was a year away from reaching the muggle age of majority.
He needed to win the Triwizard Tournament. If he didn't, then there was a very real possibility that Tom Riddle might end up homeless that summer. Off course, he would work, and he could spend time with his schoolmates – anything would be better than living with that muggle hag and her brood of outcast brutes. Vile little scum that tormented Tom for his attending a special school. Of course, he knew better what Hogwarts really was. But that didn't stop Tom from wanting to curse their horrid little gobs shut with some kind of painful curse. But that simply wouldn't do.
As the owner thanked him profusely for offering his valuable time and apologized from tearing the boy away from his studies and preparation for the Triwizard Tournament, Tom wondered if dear old Mr Burke had used him. Having a Triwizard Champion in the shop that day had kept it very busy, and Tom had been kept busy that day. Tom played with a serpent ring he'd bought from the markets last summer. It looked like a precious family heirloom, and that was one of the things he needed. For it helped the illusion he came from some family of importance that had actually left him something, but the truth was seeping out. Somehow someone at the Daily Prophet had uncovered the truth about his childhood – how he'd been raised by filthy muggles. But at least they hadn't uncovered the truth – that his mother had been a squib and a whore and that his father was just like those vile, pitiful bastards that tormented him during the summer.
Running his finger over the intricate design of the serpent curled on his middle finger, he stepped out of the shop and found a surprise waiting for him – this one far more welcome to Tom Riddle Jr than those that awaited him at the group home that summer. “Lavinia, what a pleasant surprise!” He greeted the dark haired young woman, his signature charming smile gracing his face. “Whatever are you doing in this part of town?” He asked in a mock-scolding manner, for Tom's friends were not known for being squeamish about dark magic. It held a certain intrigue and allure for the Knights of Walpurgis.[/ul]

The young dark haired man stepped out of the little shop. Lavinia Snape smiled. "Oh, now Tom, why would I not be here? That is the question you should be asking yourself."
Tom was one of the few friends Lavinia had at Hogwarts. The two of them got along quite well. Severus, Nia's father and a professor at Hogwarts, was somewhat pleased with his daughter's choices for friends. He could tell that Lavinia was definitely accustomed to the privileged life. He partially had the girl's mother, Contessa, to thank for that. That pureblooded woman came from a wealthy family that tried to create ties with some of the greatest families in the wizarding world. Severus respected that about the Marks family, which is probably one reason why he tried to secure a marriage between his daughter and Draco Malfoy. Contessa had written a letter to Severus expressing her pleasure at this match.
"So, my friend, how was working at the shop today?" Lavinia asked, making some small talk. As happy as she was on her way to being the wife of one of her dearest closest friends, there would always be something about the charming, mysterious, handsome Tom Riddle that would always make her melt a little into a puddle right in front of him. There had been a few times when she had thought that being with Tom would have been a dream come true, but she knew she would be equally happy with Draco.
Lavinia had noticed before that whenever she was around Tom and talking to him she would flirt a little. Nia wasn't the only girl that would melt right in front of the young wizard that was on his way to being one of the most powerful wizards in the world. There was a good handful of Slytherin girls that adored Tom. What wasn't there to adore about him. He was absolutely perfect in everyway.
Today was the day the brunette witch decided to turn on her flirting switch and see if she could get any sort of reaction from her fellow Slytherin.

Of course, he knew full well that Lavinia could more than look after herself. He wouldn't have given her the time of day otherwise. Tom Riddle had no use for weaklings, and so he didn't even entertain them. Unless, of course, they proved useful to him in some manner. And Lavinia did not fall into the category of weakling, so his association with her was not dependent on the existence of false motives. Although, he could not say that the relationship was not mutually beneficial. Lavinia had the protection – should she ever need it – of an extremely powerful and influential young man, not to mention the social connections to the Hogwarts' Champion. And although he did not need it, it certainly did not hurt his grades when Lavinia's father saw the name of one of his daughter's friends on assignments that Tom submitted, rather than an enemy. Not that Severus Snape would ever do such a terrible thing as play favourites with his students, that would be simply preposterous!
“Busier than usual.” Tom answered simply, offering his arm to his female companion before starting to walk down the lane. “Amazing how quickly word gets out that the Triwizard Champion is working for a shift, isn't it?” He didn't mind that it was busy. Sure, he enjoyed studying the merchandise that Borgin and Burkes sold, but he didn't mind when it was busy. At least his public popularity meant that there was a good chance he'd still have a job that summer. Assuming there wasn't some horrific accident that killed him. Then his employer would have the most unfortunate task of replacing him. But Tom hoped it wouldn't come to that. Not that he cared that his employer would be forced to find someone else as much as his biggest fear was his own mortality, his own demise. But he'd practice and not become just a statistic of Triwizard champions killed by the challenges.
“All jesting aside, what brings you to Knockturn Alley today, Lavinia?” Tom asked, curious of her answer.

Lavinia glared at Tom for his comment. "Tom, you are starting to sound like my father. Exactly how much time have you been spending with him? I swear, it seems like it is way more time than I spend with him," Nia said. She rolled her eyes. Lavinia loved her father dearly. She understood he was trying to be the good protective father since he missed the first almost twelve years of her life, but sometimes it annoyed Lavinia. Nia blamed her mother for Severus not being a part of her childhood. It was the only thing the brunette was angry at her mother for.
"Honestly, Tom, word only got around the Slytherin house. I made sure it stayed amongst our fellow Slytherins. I doubt any of them will say anything when I threatened them with my Petrificus Totalus spell," Lavinia said, smiling mischeiviously at Tom. She figured he would enjoy the mental image of Lavinia threatening the Slytherin house. Petrificus Totalus was one of Lavinia's more powerful spells followed by Stupify.
Lavinia could feel some wandering eyes looking at the two of them as they walked down Knockturn Alley, Nia on the arm of the greatest young wizard ever to be born into this world. Nia was definitely happy with the connections she made at Hogwarts. She was on her way to being the wife of Draco Malfoy. She became friends with Tom Riddle. Another friend of her's and an ex boyfriend, Umbridge, was related to Doloras Umbridge, a Ministry of Magic employee. Her connections were interesting, powerful, and dark. Severus was quite proud with his daughter and the people she made friends with.
"Can a friend just not pop in to visit another friend as he gets off work, Tom?" Lavinia said, a little bit of a snide attitude in her voice. This type of sarcastic, snide attitude only came out of Lavinia when she was around Tom, Draco, Umbridge, and Aurora. Lavinia looked at Tom with her big brown eyes. She knew her puppy dog brown eyes always worked on Draco. Nia was kind of hoping they would work on Tom. She was definitely in a strange mood today.

” Tom offered with a shrug. Another person would not have received such an offer as Tom liked to keep ahead of the pack, but Lavinia’s presence would not only be welcomed by her father, but he would teach her those spells anyway, so he might as well offer to train with her so that he might be able to monitor her progress. Besides, her father might even be tempted to teach them both spells that he otherwise might not have shown him if his precious Lavinia was not present. Yes, it was useful to keep close connections to witches with influential contacts.
“You needn’t have done that, my dear.” Tom told her, glancing at the girl sideways to see how she reacted to his calling her ‘my dear’. He had always suspected that Lavinia enjoyed his company more than she let on in the same way that Desdemona did, and he wondered what she would do with that almost pet name. “Borgin and Burkes were certainly not shy in sharing with everyone that the favourite to win the Triwizard Tournament would be paying a visit to his shop. Good for sales, you know.”
And there was the reaction. Nia turned her big brown eyes to him in a look Tom knew was supposed to be flirty from past experience. But Tom had little feelings for anyone other than himself and so he simply gave her a smile before turning his attention to the path ahead of the two. Or perhaps he could make her squirm a little bit. He enjoyed tormenting others and even his own followers were not immune when Tom was in a devilish mood and had no other outlet for his dark urges. “Congratulations on your betrothal. I would have congratulated you sooner, but I only just heard.”
