FAQ
[/blockquote][/blockquote]Why is Tom Riddle at school with Harry Potter?
Because our plot revolves around the concept of - if Tom Riddle had been born later.
How do character years and ages work here?
Just like they do in the books. All first year students must have turned eleven before September first in their first year. If their birthday takes place after September first, they cannot attend Hogwarts until the following year.
How is this site different from any other era clash?
Well, our site isn't really an era clash site. It just changes the birth years of a handful of Riddle era students to make them school age during the trio's years at Hogwarts. Most of the era clashes I've seen involve an accident with a timer turner. Ours is the result of magic at all, it just deals with an adjustment of history.
How would this even affect the canons we know and love?
A lot of things would have changed, such as Harry and Neville growing up with their parents.Harry wouldn't have met Ron on the platform because his parents would be there to show him how to get on the platform. The troll incident which made Hermione friends with Harry and Ron never happened because Quirrell was never possessed by Voldemort. So, the golden trio isn't a trio.
If Voldemort had never destroyed so much of the wizarding world, how would our beloved characters have turned out?
So what Riddle era canons are now school age?
Only Tom Riddle Jr, Rubeus Hagrid and Moaning Myrtle have been made school age. This is because Hagrid and Myrtle played major roles in the canon Chamber of Secrets plot, so have been adjusted in order to fit into this universe.
So what does that mean for our beloved Hogwarts professors?
Well, it means that there was no curse on the Defense Against the dark Arts post. In all likelihood, Snape would probably have been able to get the position. Slughorn didn't retire out of fear for his life. Trelawney never made the prophecy concerning Harry Potter, so never got the job at Hogwarts. And Delores Umbridge has not yet been given a reason to leave her position at the ministry to work at Hogwarts.
Do you only accept canons?
Nope, we accept both canons and originals. Many of our canons are only canon on United We Stand anyway, so originals that aren't on the canons list are definitely allowed.
What is the in-character political climate like?
Lots of blood prejudice. Since Grindelwald, there's not been any major blood-based wars. So, with nobody assuming that you're out to exterminate all muggleborns and enslave mugglekind, it's perfectly acceptable to be a pureblood elitist. In fact, it's starting to grow quite common.
